Rocket City Starlets was born from a deep love of tradition, sparkle, and spirit. Inspired by cherished memories with her grandmother – who embraced life fully in the vibrant streets of New Orleans – our founder sought to bring that same joy and celebration to her new home – Rocket City! From marching side by side handing out flowers in parades, raising an umbrella to 2nd line for any and every occasion, those moments created a legacy of connection, community, and courage. Longing for the magic she missed, she set out to recreate it – right here in Rocket City.

Right away she found her people and developed amazing friendships that have grown into a sisterhood to celebrate, support, and empower one another. Recognizing the importance of inclusivity and creativity, they aimed to establish an organization that would embrace diversity and promote confidence and empowerment among its members and the broader community.

And so began a journey to make a meaningful impact in The Rocket City. Through their parades, events, and charitable initiatives, they strive to honor the traditions and values that have made New Orleans a symbol of diversity and resilience, while also creating new traditions in their new home.

 Who We Are
•       The Rocket City Starlets are a dynamic, all-women performance and volunteer group based in Huntsville, Alabama – the Rocket City!
•       We’re inspired by vintage charm, community spirit, and Southern hospitality, blending 1940s-60s retro style with modern heart.
•       Our members come from all walks of life -mothers, teachers, engineers, nurses, hair stylists, retirees, artists- and we all share a passion for sisterhood, and all things sparkly, and fun.

 What We Do
•       We perform dance routines, themed appearances, and vintage-style entertainment at local parades, festivals, fundraisers, and charity events.
•       We’re proud to support nonprofits, veteran organizations, community outreach events, and causes that uplift women and children.
•       We love bringing sparkle, smiles, and a little bit of nostalgia to everything we do.

 Why “Rocket City Starlets”?
•       Our name is a nod to Huntsville’s rich space history and the iconic glam of “starlets” from Hollywood’s golden era.
